Since the recent flights of a pilot can easily be determined based on flight logs, you can implement a recent flight experience requirement for rental flights and let Flightnet check it.
The basics
The recent pilot flight experience requirement (or just pilot recency) is configured per aircraft type. Flightnet automatically checks for all single pilot reservations if the pilot satisfies the requirement and flags the reservation. Your staff can manually confirm compliance for a reservation. For regular users, the information is read-only.
Affected reservations
This pilot recency feature checks single pilot reservations with aircraft only (no instruction flights or reservations without aircraft).
Please note that, once the pilot recency check box in the reservation has been checked, the system will not automatically uncheck it, even if the conditions are no longer met (e.g. if the conditions have been tightened meanwhile).
Maintenance reservations are excluded from the check.
When is the pilot recency evaluated?
• | Each time the reservation is saved |
• | Every night (automatically by Flightnet) |
• | When you click on [Check and set pilot recency compliance for all concerned reservations] (see Pilot recency implementation) |
What happens if a pilot satisfies the condition?
The "Pilot recency complied" check box will be checked.
What happens if a pilot does not satisfy the condition?
• | The "Pilot recency complied" check box will remain unchecked. |
• | Additionally, if the reservation starts within the next 10 days, all users with "Manage all reservations" permission are alerted on the welcome page. |
Can I manually confirm pilot recency compliance although the conditions aren't met?
Yes, you can check the check box in the reservation manually (e.g. if a pilot has flown the same type elsewhere and therefore satisfies the condition although no related flight logs are present in Flightnet).
Can I manually uncheck the pilot recency check box in a reservation?
Yes, but you have to keep in mind that the compliance is evaluated nightly by Flightnet. Therefore, if the pilot meets the recency requirement, your setting will be overwritten.
Who can manually change the pilot recency check box in a reservation?
All users with "Manage all reservations" permission.
Where can I find a list of all non-compliant reservations?
Navigate to Reservations > All reservations. The pilot recency field is displayed there (you can also order the list by this column).
