The duty roster allows you to manage staff availability. The typical case is a flight instructor who is available on particular dates only or a pilot who occasionally is on weekend duty for round trip flights.
With the duty roster, you can make sure that standard users book flight instructors for flights within their duty times only.
Initial configuration of the duty roster
1. | Make sure that the user groups (particularly those for staff) have the proper permissions for the duty roster management |
2. | Configure the availability types |
3. | Enable the duty roster in the settings |
Include a specific user in the duty roster
1. | Enable the Manage person in duty roster setting in the user administration |
Please note that enabling the duty roster has an immediate effect on the availability of the user. You should continue straight to the definition of the availability of the user. Standard users can no longer book a person (flight instructor etc.) managed in the duty roster for periods where there are no entries regarding availability. |

Duty roster and visibility in the timeline view
Its most convenient for your users if they can see the staff availability in the timeline view. Since this visibility is controlled by the assignment to a user resource group, it is a good practice to add frequently booked users to a user resource group, although not being compulsory.
